The xAI API gives developers the Grok model family: chat and reasoning models, vision, image generation and live search (including posts on X). It is OpenAI-compatible, so apps built on the OpenAI SDK can switch by changing the base URL and key — good for apps that need real-time information, long context and cost-effective reasoning.
