Kiro (pronounced /ˈkiːroʊ/) is the agentic AI IDE that Amazon Web Services launched in July 2025. Built on Code OSS, it works with VS Code settings and extensions. Its focus is spec-driven development: turn a request into specification documents first, then implement them task by task — ideal for taking projects from prototype to production.
