About this product
Dream Labs is a San Francisco robotics AI company founded by former leads of NVIDIA's GR00T robotics research, and it raised a US$90M seed round in October 2026. Its Dream-1 is a World Action Model: from a head camera and two wrist cameras, the robot's current state and a task instruction, it predicts both what the scene will look like and the next actions, returning joint angles or gripper poses and open/close states.
Dream-1 can control two-armed robots it was never trained on and perform tasks it was never shown (zero-shot), and Dream Labs already works with 20+ hardware partners such as Unitree, AgileX, Trossen and ROBOTIS. It suits tabletop work like pick-and-place, folding laundry and clearing dishes. Official pricing is US$3 an hour for Dream-1 (about US$0.0013 per action) and US$2 an hour for the lighter Dream-1-flash. It is a research beta and has not been validated for safety-critical use.

Account: sign in to the Dream Labs platform and create your own API keys. New accounts get US$10 of free credit from Dream Labs (subject to its current policy).

Getting started
Create a key: after signing in, create an API key on the platform and keep it safe.
Call the API: with the official dream Python client, choose the dreamlabs/dream-1 model, send camera images and robot state, and request actions. Each call returns about 1.6 seconds of motion, or roughly 2,250 calls an hour. The platform has a getting-started tutorial.
Fine-tune: upload demonstrations from your own robot on the Fine-tuning page, then call the model ID you get back.
Try it online: no robot needed — the Robot Playground on the website lets you prompt real robots in the lab and watch them work.
Tips
Try Dream-1-flash first for simple, repetitive motions; it costs less.
For robots very different from the training data, zero-shot results may be weaker, and a little fine-tuning on your own data helps a lot.
