Redeem a US Google Play gift card to a US Google account to get Google Play balance for Android apps and in-app purchases, app subscriptions (such as AI apps on Android), ebooks and films, and some Google services such as YouTube Premium. No US Google account? Buy a Google account first.
Always use a stable connection in the card's region when redeeming. An unstable connection can be detected as spoofing and lock the card — the rules are currently strict.
On Android:
① Open the Google Play Store app and sign in to your Google account (Google sign-in guide).
② Tap the menu / profile icon.
③ Choose "Redeem".
④ Enter your code to redeem the card.
In a web browser:
① Sign in to your Google account (Google sign-in guide).
② Go to the Google Play redeem page and click Redeem.
③ Enter the code to redeem your US Google Play gift card.
① "This code can only be redeemed in XXXX": Google thinks you're outside the country. Wait about 2 hours, set up a dedicated IP in that country and try again — it usually works. Don't retry repeatedly or the code may be locked.
② "There was an error redeeming the code" (PRS-GCRPM-01): usually a network problem. Restart and stabilise your connection and try again. If it still fails, stop and try again after 2 weeks, or ask a friend abroad to redeem it.
③ "We need more information to redeem your gift card": the card usually can't be redeemed any more. (To try again, wait two months and create a new native account in that country with a dedicated IP — don't change payment details on the old account.) If that fails too, the code has become a card that must be activated in a store in that country, which effectively makes it unusable.
You can also ask us for the card screenshot, purchase location and store name to help with an appeal; replies usually come within a day, but success isn't guaranteed.
